Our COVID-19 Safety Procedures

All information below has been decided based on the most recent Executive Order as it pertains to our region’s exercise facilities, the OSHA Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19 and the CDC Guidelines for Youth Sports.

1. Signs are posted outside The Landing Dance Academy that ask individuals to refrain from entering if they have been sick, experiencing any symptoms, or been in contact with someone who has a known case of COVID-19. We ask that each dancer have their temperature checked prior to being dropped off, and not attending if it is at or above 100.4°F. Staff temperatures are checked at the beginning of each shift. Masks are required for all parents and dancers entering the lobby. Though not required for dancers younger than 5, or while exercising if it interferes with activity, we recommend students continue to wear as mask if they are able.

2. We will have accurate records kept of attendance, times, dates, and have each dancer’s contact information to provide accurate information for the Health Department if we are required to do so.

3. All studios have been marked to maintain 10 ft distance between dancers while dancing, including with the instructor. We have staggered days and times of all students to maintain an indoor capacity at/below  10 students at a time and to allow for between class cleaning.

4. We will disinfect all surfaces and bathrooms between class groups. More than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, soap and water, masks, no-touch trash cans, and handwashing guidelines in both bathrooms will be readily available for all students and staff.

5. Each studio has a separate air conditioning system which will be on for the duration of all classes, and the classroom doors will be left open for ventilation. We have also purchased a Medify Medical Grade Filtration H13 True HEPA Air Purifier, 99.97%, based on the CDC recommendation for a HEPA air purifier for adequate air filtration in each studio. This air filter will also run during classes and after for the recommended time to perform air-scrubbing for the allotted space size.

6. Dancers are asked to come dressed and bring their own water bottle, and bags will be put along the edge of the studio on marked locations.

7. Hand sanitizer will be used as the dancers enter the building.

8. Parents are asked to stay outside the studio for pickup, and if coming inside, a mask is required and will be provided if requested. All payments and correspondence are available online so entering the studio is not essential.

9. We ask that families follow all Health Department guidelines if a case occurs within their family.

10. All Landing Dance Academy staff have been asked to follow the above procedures, will be provided with PPE, and given up-to-date education and training on COVID-19 risk factors and protective behaviors. If they feel ill in any way they are required to stay home and there are no barriers for them to take time off. We have open online lines of communication with all faculty for them to voice concerns. All classes have been scheduled to reduce the total number of employees in our facility at a given time.

COVID Waiver must be signed before your dancer can participate in any Landing Dance Academy activity.
